Folk Film is an independent production company in Bergen. We produce and co-produce films with both international and domestic directors and producers who bring a commitment to cinematic storytelling, documentary film as art.

Folk Film collaborates with emerging and established talent, focusing primarily on feature-length documentaries and hybrid films crafted for festival and theatrical release.

ANITA NORFOLK  - PRODUCER & MANAGING DIRECTOR 

Anita is the founder of Folk Film. She has co-produced a string of internationally acclaimed feature documentaries, most recently MOTHERLAND (2023, winner CPH:DOX, nominated for the European Film Awards), HOW TO SAVE A DEAD FRIEND (ACID Cannes, Grand Jury Prize DOC NYC 2022) and THE SCARS OF ALI BOULALA (Premiere Tribeca, winner TEMPO 2020).

Prior to Folk Film she worked for over a decade in the UK - first for video games developer Rockstar Games (Grand Theft Auto IV, V, L.A Noire, Red Dead Redemption), before moving into documentaries. She was the development producer on feature documentary OUT OF THIN AIR (Netflix, BBC Storyville) and the series producer on When I Worry About (BBC), an animated documentary series that won a Royal Television Society Award. She is a Eurodoc and EAVE alumna, and a memner of the European Film Academy.

SIMON EIDESVIK - ASSOCIATE PRODUCER 

Simon Eidesvik is from Bergen and studied politics, philosophy and economics in the United Kingdom. After completing his education, he returned to Norway, where he now works as an associate producer at Folk Film. He has been involved in most of the company's projects in recent years, including the award-winning documentary MOTHERLAND (2023), which won the main award at CPH:DOX and was nominated for the European Film Awards, as well as the art installation LANDSCAPING  (2025/2026) — a collaboration between Folk Film, Carte Blanche and Studio ES, with its world premiere at the Biennale de la danse de Lyon in collaboration with the Centre Pompidou.
